Meet The Team

Sierra Nevada Water Polo

We’re a nonprofit organization committed to growing the sport of water polo for youth in the local region. Water polo is a unique team sport that combines the dual skills of swimming and ball handling, with play elements of hockey, basketball, and soccer. Water polo players can typically swim over 1.5 miles in a game! Physiologists have ranked the sport as one of the most strenuous activities of all. In 1991, water polo was quoted as the “Best overall sport in terms of physiological demands placed on the athlete,” by a panel of physiology experts from all over the U.S.(Ludovise).

Sierra Nevada Water Polo is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization. Gifts to SNWP may be tax deductible under IRS guidelines. Consult your tax advisor. Federal ID 87-0813543.
